Text Link Ads

Text link advertising is another important avenue available to webmasters to improve site awareness and attract visitors. This works on the principal that other websites, preferably a site that has a similiar theme to your site, place a link to your website with your chosen anchor text. The benefits work in two ways. Firstly, you get visitors from anyone that clicks on the link through to your site. Secondly, having links to your site from other sites improves your search engine ranking for the terms that you use in your anchor text. These links are graded based on the quality of the website displaying the link.

So, for example a site that is regarded as a leader in a particular industry or field has a link to your site, then that will be worth a lot more than 100 links from sites that recieve no traffic and are not related to your market.
